Spring Break Part 1

Last week with spring break on the horizon I was worried about how best to entertain the kiddos.
By about 12:00 Monday I had refereed more fights and arguments than I care to admit. What am I to do. I tried to sell a trip to Target has a great activity, but that fizzled quickly.
Monday evening I had to come up with something for Tuesday or we were all going to kill one another.
I decided that a trip downtown would do the trick.
Tuesday morning we headed downtown.
Our first stop was Banbury Cross Donuts.
Can't go wrong.
We followed it up with a visit to Brad's.
I hate to tell Brad that I think the highlight was pushing the buttons in the elevator.
What better activity then to head to the new City Creek. A few short blocks later I was faced with a large Forever 21 just begging for me.
As soon as we walked in James and Josh were quickly disappointed.
Once the boys figured City Creek is full of lots of stores Mom wants to go in it was like dragging dead weight.
A stop on the sky bridge was cool for about 5 minutes

The fountains were nice until the wind picked up and it got alot colder with wet skin
I think we were at City Creek for about 30 minutes.
I quickly realized that I need to be at City Creek with my Sisters.
With tear filled eyes as I walked by H&M, Nordstrom and many other fine retailers I vowed to make it back without the boys in tow,
**
By Noon, we had been to Banbury, Brad's work, and a quick peek at City Creek, I still had a whole day in front of me.

A call from Jamie and Brooke we were on our way to Sugar house Park for a picnic and play time.
BINGO!!!
A little chilly, but just what we needed.
The boys were excited to see the girls and run around. It was perfect.

After lots of playing it was time to head home for naps.

Fun with Grandma and Jamie

Love Wednesdays when we are able to get together with Grandma and Jamie.
The kiddos always love seeing and playing with one another.
We had a little Easter Egg Hunt, played with toys, ate alot (Okay, I ate alot. Jen was making party mix), and reading with Grandma.

3rd Grade Program

James had hie 3rd grade program today and I loved it.
Nothing better than watching your kids performing and being totally uncomfortable.
Lots of singing and dancing and neither happen very often around our house. So when James has to perform I just smile.
He did a great job.

I don't think the performance arts in the cards with a house full of boys.

Boys Weekend

We had more testosterone in the house this weekend and loved it.
Aiden and Andrew came to spend Friday night and we had plenty of activity and energy to go around.

Love having the boys

On The Mend

It might not look like it, but we are on the mend. I never would have guessed this was the out come.
The kid has laid on the bed for 3 days not wanting to move or be touched.
Although, with a little Lortab down him, I would have him walk around without a diaper to air-out the sores. (He has some in the most unfortunate places)
When he is up and around he will wrap a blanket around him.
We have mastered the pick up so I don't touch any sores.
I have the wrapping up process almost mastered.
and for the first time in 3 days My little Jackson let me hold him in the rocking chair. With careful hand placement and weight distribution it was wonderful.
I missed being so close.

Amazing how the body heals, and slowly the one I love forgets about the spots.
(which is a blessing, I think we will have another round of treatment at some point)

My Little Guy

This is what I did to my little guy today.
My heart aches as I see all the pain he is in.

Jackson has mulluscum. A skin virus that produces little zits/warts on his body. I took him to see Doctor Frank (Grandpa), and he drops a tiny bit of a liquid (Beetlejuice - Seriously) and it blisters and kills off the virus.
He doesn't move. He has the blisters all over his bum and up is back.
He doesn't want us to touch him.
We wrapped him in gauze and gave the kid a dose of Loritab and hope he will be able to get some sleep.
Brad and I carried him to bed each taking corners of the blanket he was on.

Hope my little guy gets some sleep.
